I was feeling so much better. And when I opened my eyes, there was my handsome mate, sleeping beside me. Edison and Wallace were sitting on the loveseat in the room. Nope, that wasn’t creepy at all. I started to ask them what they were doing there, but Edison put his finger over his lips to let me know not to talk. I nodded, but when I went to get up to use the bathroom, Grayson’s arm shot out and cinched around me.

“Hey, I just gotta pee,” I said quietly.

“Sorry. I didn’t realize you were awake and thought you were falling out of bed or something. I don’t know. My brain is fuzzy.”

After getting up and taking care of business in the bathroom, I realized my stomach was feeling a whole lot calmer, and I actually wanted something to drink. I washed my hands and went to go find some water, but instead, I was met by a smiling Wallace who was holding a tray with a glass of water that looked refreshing and a bowl of soup.

“Sit and you can eat. Edison said you should be able to keep both the water and the soup down. He’s downstairs with Grayson, showing him how to make your tea.”

“Is that the stuff that Troy said smells terrible, but helped Elliot?”

“That would be the stuff, yes. You’ll have to drink it three times a day, at least. More if you’re feeling sick. But it will help. And I’m told that Elliot says you get used to the flavor.”

“Thank you,” I said as I climbed back in the bed. I noticed the sheets smelled clean and fresh, and I wondered if I had Edison to thank for that, as well. I had just sat the glass of cool water back on the tray when Grayson came in with his own tray.

“Hey, sweetheart. You’re looking so much better. How are you feeling?”

“Like I got hit by a moving vehicle. I’m so tired, and my entire body feels heavy. It’s like my arms and legs weigh a ton each.”

“That’ll pass. That’s just the effects of the help I gave you earlier. But don’t worry, you and the baby are perfectly fine.”

“Thank you, Edison. I really tried to keep water and crackers down, but the past few days, it’s gotten so much worse.”

“It’ll be hit or miss. You never know if you’ll spend a lot of time throwing up, or if you’ll be just fine. Each pregnancy will be different so don’t expect this one to be the same as the next,” Edison told me.

“Noted. Well, I hope to have many more cubs with my mate, so I guess, we’ll have to wait and see.”

“That’s a good plan. You two eat your dinner, and Wallace and I will be downstairs in the kitchen if you need us. Take your time and give a shout when you’re finished.”

“Thanks, for everything,” Grayson said and I nodded in agreement. My mate gave me a quick kiss before he sat a cup of what could only be my tea on my tray.
